Gone fishing – well almost – went camping instead

Last weekend our family went camping with the Adventurer church group.  We try to plan two camping trips with them every year – lots of fun – unfortunately quite a bit of work to but together also.

One of THE BIGGEST  WORRIES is if the weather holds up.  Ever camped while it rained?  Exactly – there is nothing much to overcome the misery once the weather turns bad on you – especially with a group of stir crazy kids.

We were truly blessed with a beautiful weekend – sunny, not too hot, and cool in the evenings.  Just great weather to be outside all day.  Combine it all with a great campsite at Inks Lake state park with plenty of shade trees – perfect.

Inks Lake is about 60 miles from Killeen near Burnet, TX.  There are lots of things to do around the area, as well as right at the park.
