Bring a prop – something that tells us about you ;)

When we ask a client to bring a personal item it is a nice way to break the ice and get the conversation started. I see you
brought a volleyball, do you play competitively or just for fun?  When did you start playing the guitar? You get the idea. It
is a great way to start talking to people you have never met and they have something around that is familiar to them. My
daughter has her security blanket, clients bring a prop.  Maybe that analogy is not the best. For this shoot we brought
the prop. Since there are very few benches in the middle of a field, we had to bring it ourselves.
Having taken the Lewis’ picture many times, breaking the ice was not an issue for this shoot. We only had a limited amount of time since they were in a hurry and the sun was setting rapidly. So we sat them down – and quickly had the first picture.
P.S.: If you envisioned that picture of the baby grand in the hayfield please give us a little extra notice 🙂
