Taking pictures of the kids in the bluebonnets has become a yearly event for us.
When the bluebonnets bloom it is still cool and pleasant in Texas. Being outside is a real joy. It looks like summer, it feels like summer but it’s not hot like summer.
The kids really like it, too.
Every year we look for some nice batches of bluebonnets. Unfortunately the nicest ones are always along the highways (not great for kids to play).
Great patches from last year might have been mowed down too soon so they could not reseed themselves 🙂 Along the highways they make it a point not to mow until the wildflowers have reseeded themselves, hence the great patches every year.
At any rate – thanks to our friends on facebook word spreads quickly on where to go.
Now you just have to get there before everyone else tramples them down.
Oh – you now just have to get the kids to cooperate – that is a whole other story 🙂
